Ralph Wiskow

Ralph Wiskow, 75, of Wausau, son of Arthur and Ethel Wiskow, passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, on February 28th, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

He graduated from Birnamwood High School, served with pride in the Armed Forces, and later retired from Wausau Paper Mill, after 35 years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Janis (Raduenzel), who was the love of his life. They had 3 children: Terry (George) Strodthoff, Mark (Denise) Wiskow, and Seth (Jeanette) Wiskow. They were also greatly blessed with 8 grandchildren, Noah Daniel Strodthoff, Rachel (Jeremy) Ford, Preston (Becky) Strodthoff, Jessica (Joe) Strand, Katie Wiskow, Andrew Wiskow, Cara Wiskow, and Asher Wiskow, and 3 great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Caleb, and Owen Ford. He will be greatly missed by his much loved sister-in-law, Lois Mumford; as well as, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Claire; brother, Elwood; and grandson, Noah Daniel.

Although Ralph's passing from this world leaves his family with broken hearts, we also rejoice in his constant faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the knowledge that he is at peace in Heaven.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend Gary Froseth will officiate. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Family will receive guests from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau; and again the day of the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church or the Palliative Care Unit at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
