Marianne Henkelman

Marianne Henkelman, 84, of Wausau passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Marywood Center.

She was born February 6, 1928 in Wausau to the late Martin and Emma (Breitenfeldt) Kiepke. On September 26, 1953, Marianne married Lawrence Henkelman at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. She was an active member at Trinity where Marianne volunteered at the Trinity Harvest Bazaar, organized the weekly flower donations for church and was a member of the Trinity Altar Guild and Ladies Aid. For over twenty years she was the school cook at Trinity until retiring. Marianne was also a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and attended many of their past conventions. She loved to bake and cook, embroider, flower garden, cheer on the Brewers and enjoy her backyard birds. Marianne will be fondly remembered for the care and love she gave her children and grandchildren over these many years.

Survivors include four children, Michael (Marilyn) Henkelman of Merrill, Barbara (Larry) Schwartz of Neenah, Debra Henkelman of Wausau, Tim Henkelman of Wausau, four grandchildren, Amy (Cornell Bass) Henkelman of Lakewood, CO, Matthew (Melissa) Henkelman of St. Paul, Mn, Aaron Henkelman of Merrill and Jesse Schwartz of Neenah, one great grandson (soon to be born), Kai Jeffrey Henkelman and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence on May 26, 2006 and a brother Anno Breitenfeldt.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Zach Holdorf will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the E.H. Bertermann Fund, Trinity Altar Guild or the Trinity Education Grant Fund, C/O Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau, 54401.

We would like to thank the doctors and staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Marywood Center, and Aspirus Hospice for all the care and comfort you gave Mom and our family during this time.
