Wayne D. Jensen, 79, left us all with sad hearts and joyously entered the kingdom of heaven on July 6, 2021.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 17 at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St. Wausau WI, with visitation beginning at 10:00am. Military honors will be provided immediately after the service at the funeral home.
Wayne was born March 23, 1942 in Rhinelander, WI to Donald and Mary (Ostrowski) Jensen. He graduated from Wausau High School and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps where he served his country as a flight mechanic and receiving awards for his marksmanship. Wayne worked at Marathon Electric and eventually for Wausau Motor Parts.
In 1966, Wayne married Betty Westberg, and together raised three children.
Wayne enjoyed hunting deer, trout fishing and camping with family most of his life. He was an avid football fan and in his early years used to dance the night away with Betty. He will be remembered for offering a few jokes when needed and having a big, gentle and warm heart beneath his quiet personality.
