Susan Jean Johnson-Fenhaus

Susan J. Johnson-Fenhaus, age 79, of Wausau, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Colonial Health Services, Colby.

Susan was born on July 24, 1946, in Wausau, to Marvin H. and Edna E.E. (Kratwell) Plautz. Susan attended Wausau High School, graduating June 6, 1964. Susan was united in marriage on June 15, 1974, to Mark J. Johnson at St. Stephens Church, Wausau. Together they raised two sons,

Drew and Kevin and were busy and active parents in everything from school events to year-round sports. Susan's professional career spanned time at Wausau Insurance, J R Brushert Jewelers, Brokaw Credit Union, and finally with Greenheck, for over 20-years, retiring in 2009.

Susan was a lifelong dog lover, caring endlessly for her two successive sets Bichon Frise's. In retirement Susan enjoying attending craft sales with friends, collecting jewelry, riding her Harley-Davidson and caring for her beloved dogs. In her later years, Susan married Bill Fenhaus August 11, 2006, sharing a life together until his passing on May 16, 2023.

Susan is survived by her sons, Drew (Amy Downs) of Richmond, California, and Kevin, of Wausau and her cousin, Sandy (Ron) Borth, Scandanavia. She was preceded in death by her husband Mark, and parents Marvin and Edna.

The family would like to thank the staff of Colonial Health Services in Colby, and North Shore Hospice for providing Susan heartfelt care and compassion in her final years and days.

A celebration of life will be held at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau, WI at 11:00 AM, on Friday, June 26, 2026, with visitation prior, from 10:00 AM until the time of services. The family will have a private burial following services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local pet shelter or animal rescue.
