Roger Schultz

Roger G. Schultz, 89, Wausau, peacefully passed away on July 23, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, with his family gathered at his side.

Roger was born in Rib Falls, Marathon County, on March 13, 1936, to the late George and Irene (Frank) Schultz. Roger grew up in Wausau and attended local schools. Roger served in the US Navy (1954-1958) and the Reserves for many years. Roger married Barbara Froemming on September 19, 1959, at Trinity Lutheran in Wausau. Roger was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Roger was employed with Gardner Bakery and later Marathon Electric where he worked for over 29 years and retired. Roger enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, and remodeling.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, and their children, Scott (Linda) Schultz, Kevin schultz, and Keith (Jodi) Schultz. Roger is further survived by his sisters, Lois Schultz and Marion Froemming, both of Wausau.

Roger is preceded by his parents; sisters, Barbara Schultz and Caroline Koehler; and brother-in-law, Donald Froemming.

A funeral service for Roger will be on Thursday July 31, 2025 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, with Rev. Paul Sundbom officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 9:30 am on Thursday July 31, 2025 until the time of service at Trinity. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
