Riemer Hettinga

Riemer Hettinga, 82, of Weston, died Wednesday July 23, 2008 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital .

Riemer was born January 3, 1926 in the town of Easton , to the late Roy and Diena (Suwyn) Hettinga. He married Clara Fraaza on September 17, 1947 . Riemer was a machinist for Marathon Electric for 38 years and also farmed. He enjoyed yard work, traveling, Cubs baseball, crafts and watching gospel quartets on video and DVD.

Survivors include his wife Clara of Schofield, two daughters; Beverly Hettinga of Wisconsin Rapids, Lois Hettinga of Wausau, three sons; Leslie (Toni) Hettinga of Weston, Jerry (Peggy) Hettinga of Schofield, Gary (Lisa) Hettinga of Weston, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, one daughter-in-law Dixie Hettinga of Ringle, and one son-in-law Robert Thomas of Wausau.

Riemer was preceded in death by one daughter Bonnie, one son Clifford, and one brother Peter.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday July 26, 2008 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau . Burial will be in Forestville Cemetery , town of Easton . Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
