Rickey Ray Fix, 75, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025. Born on September 20, 1950, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, Rickey's journey through life was marked by his unyielding spirit, love for classic cars, and a heart full of kindness.
Rickey grew up in the embrace of his parents, Ray and Marvel Fix, and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Storm Lake, Iowa, in 1968. He carried the lessons from his childhood with him as he ventured into the world, serving his country proudly as an Army veteran. His time on the railroad, where he dedicated many years, was not just an occupation but a passion that shaped his identity.
His love for the intricate world of trains blossomed into a cherished hobby, building an expansive train set that filled half of his basement, complete with hundreds of meticulously crafted cars, reflecting the imaginative spirit that defined him.
Rickey was a devoted partner to his significant other, Jenice Herzog. He shared joy and laughter with his best friends, Deb and Gary Demars, and was surrounded by extended family and friends who loved him dearly. Rickey's memory will be celebrated as a testament to a life well-lived-full of warmth, humor, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of both classic cars and friendships forged by time. He touched the hearts of those around him and will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau.
