Richard E. Davis Sr, 93, of Wausau, passed away peacefully, July 4, 2025, at Wausau Manor Nursing Home.
He was born March 19, 1932 in the State Of New York. On August 4, 1951, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dorothy J. Green, in Kansas City, KS, where they lived until 1967, before relocating to the Wausau area. Richard and Dorothy enjoyed 59 years of marriage before her passing in 2010.
Richard is survived by his children; son, R.E.(Julie) Davis of Wausau; daughter, Victoria L. Davis/Greer of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Rachel Davis (Chumpot Ratanawong), Robyn Davis, Duane Kniess, and Theresa Kniess; great-grandchildren, Cassandra Huck(Kniess)(Anthony), River Ratanawong, Rios Ratanawong ;Great Great Grandchildren Kiara Grace, Ariana Lee, Amira Marie, Anthony Wayne Elroy, siblings-in-law, Jennifer (Stephen) Chrisman, Jeannie (Hoyte) Mitchell, Carolanne (Darol) Ladd, Sandra (Vincent) Minor, and Vernon (Sherri) Green, and other family members and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, parents, parents-in-law, Albert and Aliza Green; Siblings Angie Gilbo Stanley; Edward Albert Green and Gloria Winningham; Christine Robinson and grandson Shane Kniess. Richard was a Veteran of the Korean War in the United States Air Force.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday July 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Helke Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the hour of Service at Helke funeral Home. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at 12:00 PM with Military Honors.
