Pete grew up playing hockey through high school, and played for the Wausau Cyclones hockey team. He, along with his wife Mary Jane, instilled this love of hockey in their two daughters, Kaitlin and Marah. He loved attending his daughter's games as well as going to NHL games. He especially enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Arizona Coyotes, with his family.

He was known as the grill master extraordinaire at family get-togethers, with his brats and potatoes being the best. Pete was an avid watcher of the Packers, Brewers, and the Badgers. He loved spending time with his favorite pups: Radar Jack, Sage, Stamkos, and Teal.

Pete is survived by his wife Mary Jane, Wausau; daughters, Kaitlin Kernosky, New London; Marah Kernosky, New London; father, James Kernosky, Wausau and his sister, Ann (Ted) Schwieger, Cottage Grove, MN.
