Marlene was born on January 15, 1943, to Lester Sr. and Myrtle (Pagenkopf) Krueger. She graduated from DC Everest High School in 1961. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Aschbrenner on November 14, 1964, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schofield. In her younger years Marlene was on a bowling league and part of a homemakers club where she enjoyed making crafts and flower arranging. In her spare time she enjoyed watching birds especially cardinals and hummingbirds, watching westerns, and listening to country music.
