Luella Barden

Luella (Marten) Barden, 83, of Wausau, died Friday March 7, 2008 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center.



Luella was born February 27, 1925 in Evanston, Ill. She married William Marten on June 3, 1944. William preceded her in death on October 12, 1996. Luella married Edgar "Bud" Barden on January 5, 2000. Bud also preceded her in death on February 5, 2004.



Luella is survived by two daughters Delores Pontzloff of Wausau and Beverly (Ronald) Meyer of Ringle, six grandchildren; Brenda Pontzloff of Weston, Shawn (Lori) Pontzloff of Wausau, Brian (Jess) Meyer of Mosinee, Kim (Terry) McCabe of Wausau, Jennifer Thornton of Schofield, and Travis Meyer of Wausau, 10 great grandchildren, two stepchildren David (Mary Lou) Barden of Highlandville, Mo., and Denise (Brian) Boehm of Wausau, 5 step grandchildren, and seven sisters-in-law;Esther Pilz of Birnamwood, Gladys Pilz of Joliet, Ill., Agnes Gut of Schofield, Nancy Marten of Ringle, Elaine Marten of Booneville, Ar., Helen Barden of Ringle and Catherine Nutter of Minocqua.



Luella was preceded in death by one son Thomas Marten



Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday March 11, 2008 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forestville Cemetery at a later date.
