Leone M. Schultz, 99, of Wausau passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 under Palliative Care at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born August 30, 1912 at the family farm in the town of Easton to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Wenzel. Leone married Roland Schultz on September 28, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church, town of Easton. They too were town of Easton dairy farmers. Leone enjoyed spending time with her family, flower gardening, sewing and baking. She was an auxiliary member of the VFW, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. After retiring, Leone and Roland loved to travel. Some of their tours included Europe, Alaska, Nova Scotia, and Hawaii.
Survivors include her son, Allan (Peggy) Schultz of Wausau, her daughter, Roslynn (Roger) Zahrt of Ringle, three grandchildren, Troy (Carrie) Zahrt, Melanie (Jason) Neuendank, Brian (Becky) Schultz and four great grandchildren, Lochlin Zahrt, Anna and Dylan Neuendank and Elizabeth Schultz. Leone was preceded in death by her husband Roland in 1997 and brother, Elmer Wenzel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 25, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, town of Easton. Reverend David Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Pallbearers will be Brian Schultz, Troy Zahrt, Jason Neuendank, Herm Zunker, Lowell Wenzel, and Tom Wix.
