Kenneth Becker

Kenneth Charles Becker, 66, 3153 Madonna Drive , Wausau , died November 11, 2008, at Aspirus Hospital . He was born April 3, 1942, to Lorraine (Kempf) Becker and the late Glen Becker. He married Paulette Zick in December of 1964.

Ken graduated from Wausau High School and received a BBA from UW-Madison. After graduation from the UW he worked first for General Adjustment Bureau in Janesville , Wisconsin , and then Cincinnati Insurance. In 1991 the family returned to Wausau and he covered claims for Cincinnati Insurance in the northern region.



Ken belonged to the YMCA and was very competitive as an athlete. He enjoyed playing racquetball and handball, and jogged daily until back pain began to plague him. At one point in his life he rode a bicycle from Madison to Wausau . As he grew older his activity declined and the back pain he suffered was not resolved by surgery but he continued to ride a stationary bike. He was willing to learn new sports and helped coach and referee soccer when his sons became involved in the sport.

As a teenager he had loved to play pool and when Mountain Lanes opened and Jimmy Caras came to town, Ken was right there to challenge him. He was city marble champion as a youth and never did let his wife throw out his marbles.

Survivors include his mother, Lorraine Becker, two sons, Christopher Becker, Madison and Todd Becker, Madison, two brothers, Wayne and Robert G. Becker, Wausau , many nieces, nephews and cousins, and former spouse, Paulette (Lette) Becker, Rib Mountain .
