Kathleen Kay Christianson

Kathleen Christianson, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 29, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston, WI.

Kathleen was born in Webster City, IA to Robert Shaeffer and Wanda Shaeffer. Kathleen married Bruce Christianson of Wausau, WI on February 28,1980 in Manistique, MI.

Kathy spent her career with Prudential Insurance. After retiring, she enjoyed her winters in Arizona, gardening, crafts and spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Diesel, along with many other pets she and Bruce cherished. One of Kathy’s favorite pastimes was spending time with her grandchildren, and she especially enjoyed watching them participate in their various sports activities while in high school and college. She continued to be blessed in recent years with great grandchildren that she adored and especially cherished every moment she spent with them.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Bruce Christianson of Wausau; two children, Robert (Bobby) Hayes and his wife Diane of Mosinee and Kris Pearson and her husband Mike of Wausau; four grandchildren, Ashley Drake and her husband Chase, Morgan Day and her husband Tyler, Myranda Hayes and soon to be husband Matt McDonald, and Drew Pearson; three great-grandchildren, Brooks Day, Beckham Day, and Olivia Drake; sister, Patti Larsen and her husband Darrell Larson of Racine WI; cousin, Bruce Berggren and his wife Deb Berggren of Stanhope, IA; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Wanda Shaeffer, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bob and Betty Christianson.

A Family Service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Mosinee Brewery Company, 401 4th Street, Mosinee, WI 54455 with a Celebration of Life following from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM for all friends and family to come and enjoy celebrating stories of Kathy's life and memories made with those people who love her dearly.
