Karin Elliott

Karin M. Elliott, 63, of the Town of Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. She was born to the late Bruno and Margaret (Prellwitz) Josiger in Wausau on June 15, 1948. She was a 1966 graduate of Wausau High School and then attended the Waukesha County Technical Institute in Eau Claire, WI.
Karin liked travelling, reading, walking in the woods, tea parties and shopping with friends. Karin married Paul Elliott in Reno, Nevada on March 17, 1998. She loved animals, especially deer, dogs, and her nine cats: Annabelle, Calamity, Clover, Cricket, Dirty Ernie, Gabe, Molly, Odie, and Scarlotta. She had a huge heart and could not turn away a stray animal. She was employed by GTE Corporation in Wausau and later by Ameritech Corporation in Eau Claire as a telephone operator.
Karin is survived by her husband, Paul Elliott; sisters, Lorraine (Horton) Engles and Ruth (Lee) Green; niece, Kathryn (Kirk) Lindsay; nephews, Bruce (Kay) Engles and Mark (Penny) Engles; aunts, Adeline (Charles) Brandenburg and Helen (Morris) Brandenburg; cousins, Karla (Michael) Westcott and Gretchen (Bernard) Jerlstrom; one great-niece; four great-nephews; the Josiger aunts, uncles, and cousins; step-daughters, Kelli (Jim) Qualley, Sherri (Patrick) Blodgett, and Renee (Robert) Hegge; eight step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dennis and Daniel Josinger; and nephew, Marshall Engles.
A funeral service will take place at 2:30 pm on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, with the Rev. Steven Gjerde officiating. Friends and family may call beginning at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2011 and on Friday beginning at 1:30 pm until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Wausau.
