Joyce Eileen Rakow

Joyce Rakow, age 82, passed away on April 29, 2026 at Aspirus Hospice House.

Joyce was born February 10, 1944 to the late Gilbert Hieronimus and Lucia Hieronimus. Joyce married Thomas (Tom) Rakow of Wausau, WI on October 2, 1965 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in the township of Stettin. Tom and Joyce operated a dairy and ginseng farm in the town of Stettin until their retirement in 2004. They were married for 56 years prior to Tom's passing.

In addition to her spouse and parents, Joyce was proceeded in death by a sister Nancy Hieronimus, her in-laws Lewis and Ella Rakow, sister-in-law Ruth Kohlwey, brother-in-law Ron Zahrt, brother-in-law John Rakow and niece Kristen Schumann.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Tony) Podjaski; grandchildren Allison and Harvey; sister Lois Zahrt; sister Sue (Dan) Thelen; sister-in-law Sue Rakow; brother-in-law Terry Kohlwey and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service for Joyce Rakow will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 11:00 am Zion Cemetery in the town of Stettin.
