Joan Christine Cohen, passed away March 4, 2024, with her family by her side.
Joan was born April 24, 1945, in Wausau to parents Harris and Esther (Gruening) Beilke. She married Edward Cohen in Milwaukee on October 9, 1976. Joan and Ed loved their friends, traveling, and spending time with their grandchildren. Joan lived a faith-filled life as a Christian and had a great sense of humor and enjoyed having a good time.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Edward Cohen of Wausau; sons, Kevin (Nancy) LaFountain Lipscomb of Menomonee Falls and Brian (Shari) Lipscomb of Wausau; grandchildren, Jacob, Melanie, and Mackenzie; brother, Richard Beilke; extended family and friends throughout the country.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, LeRoy Beilke, Delores Wendorf, and Jerry Beilke.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau at 11:00 am with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Rev. Eric Hauan will officiate. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed at this website on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 am central time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 600 Stevens Drive, Wausau, Wisconsin 54401 or the Marathon County Public Library, 300 N. First Street, Wausau, Wisconsin 54403.
