Wausau

Jerome "Jerry" Joseph Witucki, 83, passed away unexpectedly at home on July 2, 2024.

Jerry was born August 2, 1940, and grew up on a farm in Poniatowski, Wisconsin and was a great help to both his mother and father. He attended school in the Athens area and graduated from high school. As a young adult, he was an avid skier and traveled all over the U.S.A. to ski. In his youth, he had a beloved pet Collie dog, Rover. Jerry was a naturally talented and skilled engineer. He built his own house and had meticulous gardens and landscaping throughout his life. He was a skilled woodworker, avid reader and could problem solve, build and fix anything.

Jerry married Martha (Baumhardt) in 2006. She was a widow and he quickly and gracefully transitioned into being a father to 4 adult children, grandfather to 12 and great grandfather to 11. He had a servant's heart which was evident in his loving care and devotion to his dear Martha.

Jerry came to faith in His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ later in life. Jerry happily shared his faith with everyone he met. He gave encouragement and wise advice. He prayed with and for everyone he knew. He was a humble, Godly, kind and hardworking man. He was a faithful and giving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, and friend.

Survivors include his wife Martha, (Wausau); his sister Kathy Anne Franzen, (Wausau); daughter, Betsy (Todd) Frisch, (Brookfield); son, John Baumhardt, (Marshfield); son, Tim Baumhardt, (Richfield); daughter, Susie (Tom) Hafemann, (Viroqua). Great grandchildren: Kaiden, Garen, Zander, Callum, Clara, Allia, Luca, Adalee, Madison, Kira and Emery. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Florian and Cecilia (Schreier) Witucki; brothers Edward Witucki, Norman Witucki, Elmer Witucki and sister Elizabeth (Mary Jo) Witucki.

Jerry, with Martha, attended Bible Believers Fellowship. He was loved, appreciated, and will be greatly missed by this group.
