Jennifer Mathies

October 14, 1946 — May 5, 2010

Jennifer Ann Mathies was born October 14, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Leander and Verna (Butenhoff) Mathies. Jenny is a 1966 graduate of Wausau High School. She worked in the dietary department for North Central Health Care for over twenty years before retiring. Jenny was an avid Packers fan year round, not only watching the games but also taking a keen interest in the draft. She also enjoyed reading, especially mysteries, playing shutbox and glazing ceramics. Jenny Mathies, 63, Wausau, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Walnut Grove Assisted Living, Wausau.


Jenny is survived by her beloved brother and sister-in-law, William (Sandra) Mathies of Rothschild; nieces and nephews, Denise Gusman of Weston, Cheryl (Jim) Trask of Rothschild, Michael (Joan) Mathies of Weston and Blake Mathies of Peyton, CO; special cousin, Nancy (Clyde) Landrum; special friend, Susan Kroeplin; and many other extended family and friends.


Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 10, 2010 at Saint Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Gary Froseth will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 9 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and conclude at 5:00 PM, resuming at 10:00 AM on Monday at the church.
