Jacqueline "Jackie" Goodin, age 89, passed away on December 4, 2025. She was born in La Crosse, WI to Charles "Ned" Conklin and Donna Conklin (nee Smits). Jackie married Ron Goodin on April 24,1955 in Wausau.
During her childhood summers, she spent time with her grandparents Clara and Lloyd "Smitty" Smits in Athens, WI. While there she worked at her grandfather's drug store which was on the corner in downtown Athens. She graduated high school from Holy Cross located in Merrill, WI.
Jackie and Ron were involved in starting the YWCA Teen Town dances at the Rothschild Village Hall in the early 1970's. Jackie was also active in the Wausau Story Drum and Bugle Corp in the early 1980's often sewing uniforms for the members.
After Ron retired, they relocated to New Mexico and lived there for 25 years. During this time they were members of the Roswell, NM Senior Circle Center and participated in, among other things, volunteering at the Center and traveling with other members both home and abroad. They cherished the friendships they gained at the Center. Two years after Ron's death Jackie moved back to Wisconsin to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Jackie is survived by her children: Debora (Gary) Jarosz, Rene` (Randy) Frank, Guy Goodin and Sara (Marty) Bever, grandchildren: Dan (Catalina) Bentz, Seth (Monica) Nelson, Cale (Olivia Martinetti)) Frank, Joe Goodin, Matt (Amber) Goodin, David Goodin, Adam (Molly Van Der Geest) Bever, Elizabeth (Greg) Nienow, Brittany Leffel and Ben Leffel, step grandchildren: Alyssa Zielinski and Mitchel Christianson, great-grandchildren: Callan, Gavin, Everett, Elsie, Rhyan, Carter and Emmalynn, aunt: Sister Mary Michael Smits and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by Ron Goodin (Spouse), Charles Conklin (Father), Donna Conklin (Mother), Ann Marie Leffel (Daughter), Norm Leffel (Son-in-Law), James Conklin (Brother), Sharon Heidemann (Sister), Chuck Conklin (Brother) and Julian Bentz (Great Grandson).
The Family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff of Aspirus Hospice, Applegate Terrace and Wausau Manor for their kindness and support during this difficult time.
A private Graveside Service will be held on Friday December 12, 2025 at 1:45 pm at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
