Helen M. Stubbe, age 103, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital with family by her side.
Helen was born on December 14, 1921, in Exeland, Wisconsin, to the late Harry and Lucy (Shinn) Weinberger. She was united in marriage to Clayton Stubbe Sr. on October 2, 1948, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tigerton, Wisconsin. They shared over 60 years of marriage before Clayton's passing on January 14, 2009.
Helen was the eldest of 15 children. She was a stay-at-home mom raising their 3 children ( Leslie, Helen and Clayton Jr). She could bake up a storm. We'd come home from school to fresh bread, buns and coffee cakes. The house always smelled good! Her passions were sewing (making clothes for us girls), making quilts, and later in life she took up crocheting (making afghans for her grandchildren). She found joy in keeping up the family tree on her parent's side (always adding and updating her books with current info she had gathered.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Leslie Jones (William deceased) and Helen Jr. (Tom) Rhyner; her son, Clayton (Rita) Stubbe Jr.; seven grandchildren, Jonathon Jones, Hilary (Wesley) Locklear, Kimberly (Matt) Baumann, Beth Ruether, Jennifer (Joe) Hintz, and Sarah Stubbe; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Lindsy (Hunter) Betchol, Ashley, Calvin Jones (fiancé Lizzie), Hayley Deckow (John), Savannah Hamel (Kye) Zach, Kyle, Eli, Christopher, Madilyn, Allison, Emma Jo (fiancé Drew) Connor, Liam, Ella; seven Great Great-GrandChildren: Zander, Makaya, Kylynna, Keyerra, Kydence, Daniel, and Liam. She is further survived by her living siblings Jack Weinberger (Merywn), Patsy Griffith, Daniel Weinberger (Karen), Robbert Weinberger (Carol), sister-in-law Marge Stubbe and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton Stubbe Sr.; parents; parents-in-law, son-in-law William Jones, grandson Aaron Jones.
