Geraldine Carol Hopperdietzel

Geraldine Hopperdietzel, 80, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, surrounded by family at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Born in Wausau to Leonard and Iola Paul, Geraldine grew up with a strong sense of family and faith.

In 1969, she married the love of her life, Lyle, at First English Lutheran Church. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and community. Geraldine was a proud member of her church and the VFW Post #388 Women's Auxiliary. She dedicated many years to caring for others through her work at Marywood Nursing Home.

Geraldine had a gentle spirit and a generous heart. She enjoyed playing Bingo, time spent at her camper in Tomahawk, and the simple joy of being with those she loved.

She leaves behind her sons, David and John (Beth), who will forever cherish her memory. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, her husband Lyle, and her siblings, Ervin Paul and Anna Smith.

A funeral service will be held February 10th, at 12:00 PM (noon) at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, with a visitation from 11:00 AM up until the time of service. Pastor Mary Zupansic will officiate. Geraldine will then be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park.
