Eileen Kay Krueger of Middleton, Wisconsin, passed away on April 27, 2025, at University Hospital in Madison. Eileen was born on November 10, 1942, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and was raised in Edgar and Wausau, Wisconsin, graduating from Wausau High School as a member of the class of 1960.
Eileen built a career as a secretary and office manager, first working in Wausau, and then in southeastern Wisconsin after moving to Milwaukee in 1967. One of Eileen's proudest accomplishments was purchasing her condominium in Mequon, Wisconsin, where she lived for over 30 years prior to moving to Middleton.
Eileen was an avid traveler and reader. Her love for reading was lifelong, and she especially enjoyed romance novels, mysteries and biographies. She found joy in travel whether it was a weekend road trip in the upper Midwest or a bigger journey like Hawaii, Mexico, Arizona or California. Eileen also enjoyed music and was an avid concert goer who saw many of her favorite singers, such as Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond, in concert several times.
Eileen is survived by her sister, Karyn Knaak of Middleton; and many cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Adalene (Krueger) Knaak, as well as her grandparents, Frederick and Eleanora Krueger and many aunts and uncles. She was a beloved sister and a cherished friend.
A celebration of life honoring Eileen's legacy will take place in the chapel at Restlawn Memorial Park, 235962 N Troy Street, Wausau, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, with a visitation from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Salvation Army.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to the warm and caring staff at Brookdale Middleton and the Palliative Care team at UW Hospital.
