Edna Genrich

Edna E. Genrich, 95, of Wausau, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Ministry St. Clare's Hospital in Weston. She was born to the late Harry and Ella (Sellin) Genrich in the Town of Berlin on May 10, 1916. Edna was a life-long resident of the Wausau area and attended Naugart Grade School while growing up, graduating from Wausau High School in 1934.
Edna worked for many years in the office of the Marathon County Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service and retired as chief clerk. She also was organist at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Naugart, for 30 years and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Scott for 20 years. She was described as a very dedicated and determined worker. Edna enjoyed travelling and would take car trips around the United States with family and friends. While on her travels she would make time to visit any relatives in the area. In 1997 she travelled on a European tour with family members. She also was an excellent seamstress and knitter. Edna was good to her nieces and nephews. She would take them fishing up north at her sister's home. They liked going for rides together, stopping for Root Beer floats or French fries.
She is survived by her sisters, Wilma Fadness and Verna Kristianson; nieces and nephews, Donna Fadness, Jon Fadness, Karen Vieweger, Sandra (Wayne) Ross, Suzanne (Bruce) Christoffersen, Leroy Christian, Lynn Kristianson, and Carla (Kenechi) Nakano; seven great-nephews; and three great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Hilda (Eugene) Christian; brother-in-law, Ray Fadness; and nephew, Donn Kristianson.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2011, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, with the Rev. Chris Sansom officiating. Friends and family may call beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Naugart.
