Doris A. Heil

Doris A Heil 90, Village of Rib Mountain, died Tuesday March 3, 2026 at Dimensions Living, with her loved ones at her side. She was born March 14, 1935, in Marathon WI, daughter of the late Aloys and Frances (Hornung) Lemmer. On May 12, 1956, she married Conrad Heil, her high school sweet heart, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marathon WI. Conrad preceded her in death December 12, 2024, they were married 68 years.

Doris had a short career at Marathon Electric, then began her true joy, starting a family. Their six kids brought her happiness and delight.

Doris was instrumental in caring for their farm, animals, garden, many experiments with flowers, fruit trees and her huge vegetable garden. Her flower beds were spectacular. She always had flowers, berries and veggies to share with beloved family and friends. The kids were helpful with all the farm chores. And in summer after we finished weeding our rows, or bailing hay, we were treated with a swim at the gravel pits.

Doris always had a kind and heart warming word for everyone she met. She was active as room mother and field trip chaperone for all her kids at Holy Name. She continued her service at Holy Name with a variety of activities including Summer Fun and giving communion to the elders of the parish.

Doris was blessed with an extra special bonus of many grandchildren. She adored each of them and spent as much time with them as she could. Grandma was always ready to play badminton, croquet, fishing game, piano, cards, and board games. Also the annual Christmas performance with angle wings for all the grands and Grandma. Each and all were truly the light of her life.

Survived by five children Jeff (Judy Wenckaitis) Heil, Linda (Jeff) Olcott, Theresa Becker, Bob (Dodi Grulkoski) Heil, all of Rib Mountain, WI. Jim (Olga Kireeva) Heil, of Lake Jackson, TX. Also daughter in law Debra (Gary) Heil. And 12 grandkids, and 13 great grandkids. Surviving siblings James (Karla) Lemmer, Athens, Barbara (Robert) Murkowski, Edgar, and George Lemmer, Wausau. Preceded in death by son Gary W Heil.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday March 13th, 2026 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Wausau, WI. Father Woodrow H Pace will preside. Visitation will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services, burial at 12:30 at Rest Lawn and lunch at Holy Name at 1:00.
