Delores Sherbert

Delores Sherbert peacefully passed away Saturday, May 3rd, just short of Mother's Day and her 91st birthday. Delores was born May 14, 1934 in Wausau to the late Michael and Lena (Schwittay) Kolpitcke. She was a graduate of Wausau High School. On January 23, 1954 she married Glenn Sherbert.

In her earlier years she worked at Wausau Theatre and Employers Insurance, where she met her future husband. Dolores was a stay-at-home mom who lovingly reared their children, Kay and Chris. She was active in the PTA, the Republican Party and was proud of her many years volunteering at the election polls.

After her children left the nest, Delores worked part time at the Chatterbox Bar. It was here that her outgoing and fun personality was enjoyed by many who years later still share wonderful memories of her. Delores enjoyed traveling, playing cards and dominos, reading and her participation with Royal Neighbors. She especially cherished her daily calls with her daughter and late sister, Arlene.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Kay Engstrom of Camarillo, CA, and son Christopher Winters of Appleton, WI, as well as other family, neighbors and many friends. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, sisters, Beatrice Duranceau and Arlene Loeffel, and five brothers, Harry, Melvin, David, Ervin and Donald.

A Celebration of Delores' Life will be held this summer with date and location to be determined.
