David R. Isberner

David R. Isberner, 78, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

David dedicated his career as an insulation and asbestos removal specialist, earning his stripes as a proud union insulator at Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant. He approached every task with unwavering diligence and a strong commitment to his craft, and his work ethic was admired by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, David found joy in life's many simple pleasures. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished time spent hunting and fishing on the Great Lakes, embracing the tranquility that nature offered. He loved the thrill of cutting wood and could often be found riding his cherished tractors or enjoying the thrill of off-roading with his Ranger and four-wheeler. He married his wife, Jean, in Milwaukee, on April 17, 1971, and was a devoted and dedicated husband. She preceded him in death during Covid in 2020. A social person at heart, David had a remarkable ability to engage with others, effortlessly striking up conversations and creating connections with everyone he met.

David is survived by his loving son, Timothy (Kimberly) Isberner; grandchildren, Marcus Berg, Alyssa Isberner and Grey Isberner; good friends, Tony and Debbie Gertschen; and countless other friends and family. He was a caring husband and father, who understood the importance of family and spent many cherished moments with those he loved.

A memorial service for David and Jean will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 150202 County Road NN, Wausau. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at the church. David and Jean will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 12:00 pm.
