Carol Leone Sell

Carol Leone Sell, 79, of Wausau, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Medical Center.

She was born on January 18, 1946, in Buffalo County, Wisconsin, to the late John and Esther (Stumprude) Olson. She attended high school at Eleva-Strum High School class of 1964. Carol was employed at Northcentral Technical College as a secretary prior to her retirement.

Carol enjoyed, playing cards and candy making. Most of all she loved spending time with her great-grandchildren who always referred to her as GITYH (grandma in the yellow house).

She is survived by her children: daughter, Trisha Downing, of Wausau, and son, Sean Sell, of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Sabrina (Pagels) and Cassie Beasley; great-grandchildren, Romeo, Skye, Liam, and Kingston; her siblings, Florence Deustcher and Dennis (Sharon) Olson; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings: Florence Olson, Violet Cleasby, Lorraine Bauer, Delores Bauer, Jerome Olson, Russell Olson, Leone Olson, Edith Cleasby, and Doris Hansen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to organization of your choosing, in Carol's name.

In accordance with Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
