Allen Howard Hornung

Allen H. Hornung, 82, passed away at home in his sleep on January 6, 2026. He died from a long battle against cancer.

Allen was born December 3, 1943, son of the late Ervin J. and Marguerite L. Hornung.

Allen served honorably in the Army Reserve as a Drill Sergeant for six years and was stationed in Wausau. He found his true love in Elsiena Moser, whom he married in Marathon, Wisconsin, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love and laughter.

Allen was a proud graduate of Marathon High School. He was a hardworking man who dedicated over 40 years of his life to the Wausau Paper Mill.

Survivors include his wife, Elsiena Hornung of Weston; three daughters, Jennifer, Christina and Tammy; one son, Randall; sons-in-law, Ron, Bobby and Matt; four grandchildren, Dylan, Tanner, Chloe and Chase; sisters, Marella, Carol, Kathy and Bonny; brothers, Ronald and Terry; and sisters-in-law, Sandy and Joann. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Tyler; sister, Angelyn; and brothers-in-law, Donald and Donald.

Private family services were held at Restlawn Memorial Park.
