Alan Schroeder

Alan F. Schroeder, 77, of Wausau passed away Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital .

He was born May 31, 1931 in Wausau to the late Walter and Ruth (Chase) Schroeder. After graduating from Wausau High School , Alan worked at American Can until joining the U.S. Air Force serving from 1951 until 1955. On November 29, 1958 , Alan married Elaine Sparby in Pine City , Mn. While raising their family, Alan worked as a local realtor and then appraiser until retiring in 1989. His pastimes included solving crossword puzzles and reading mystery novels. Alan enjoyed watching sports on TV and especially following the Packers and Brewers.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Wausau, two children, Linda (Mart) Grams of Shawano, WI and Mark (Mary Morgan) Schroeder of South Range, WI , two grandchildren, Nathan Grams of Milwaukee, and Petty Officer 3 ^rd Class Benjamin Grams of Goose Creek, S.C., two sisters-in-law, Hilder Smerda and Ruby Sparby and one brother-in-law, Martin (Dorothy) Sparby all of Mosinee. Alan was preceded in death by his brother, Burton .
