Roger Schuett, 86, of Wausau joined his wife, Ellen in Heaven on Monday, October 29, 2018.
He was born October 4, 1932 in Wausau to the late Harry and Emma (Haese) Schuett. In June 1954, Roger met Ellen Barnetzke at a local Polka dance. Roger and she were inseparable through their courtship and were married on October 22, 1955.
They made their home in the town of Stettin raising beef cattle and strawberries on Schuett Farm. Roger also worked at JI Case for 27 years before retiring as a Publications Specialist. He always looked forward to deer hunting season, not so much for the hunt but the camaraderie, storytelling, Poker games and trips to the bar with his fellow “Red Berets.” Whether it was snowmobiling, fishing or working around his farm, Roger loved being outdoors. He was a longtime member of the NRA.
Survivors include his son, Scott, five grandchildren, Brianna Curro, Jenna, Jared and Tyler Schuett and Ryan Schram, one great grandson, Eli Schuett, son-in-law, Ron Schram as well as his nephews, the Barnetzke Boys and their families. He was preceded in death by Ellen on May 28, 2017, his daughter, Sue Schram and brother-in-law and his wife, Roger and Elaine Barnetzke.
