Nancy L. Olson, 64, Weston, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 8, 2012.
She was born on February 21, 1948 in Antigo to the late Lionel and Althea (Petska) Shafer. Nancy married John Olson, and together they had two children, Michelle and Philip. For many years she was self employed with a cleaning business, although busy with her business, Nancy always made time for her children. In her free time, she liked to go to rummage sales, read, cook, and stay active by either walking or biking. Nancy enjoyed her many friends; together they would do puzzles, play bingo, or just hang out. Nancy adored her grandchildren and always cherished their moments together. She loved taking them to the park, so they could run around or go fishing. Nancy would attend their sporting events to cheer them on, even if she didn't know how the sport was played.
She will be sadly missed by her two children, Michelle (John) Catalano of Brookfield and Philip Olson of Wausau; two grandchildren, Tony and Jake Catalano; two sisters, Sharon Kolz and Janice Zaitz; two brothers, Allen and James Shafer; and mother-in-law, Ruth Olson. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband John.
A memorial service will be held 2:00p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Helke Funeral home, Wausau. Reverend David Faulkner will officiate. You may sign our family guestbook at helke.com
