Cody was born April 9th 1991, the son of David Sliwicki and the late Lanette Steinagel. He was born and raised in Wausau and graduated from Wausau West High School.
There are so many words that describe Cody, who was so many different things to so many people. It was his nature to always be concerned for others; and he was most importantly thoughtful and generous with his talents and time. Cody had a good heart and enjoyed caring for those around him. He was intent on being a good uncle to his nephew, Carter, and loved watching him during the day.
The family hunting cabin, near Prentice, was a place where Cody found contentment and peace spending time with family, surrounded by nature. He would help with whatever task needed to be done and complete it with precision and pride. Growing up, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his cousin, Josh. Cody's special talent included entertaining those around him by playing the African djembe drums.
Cody James Lee Sliwicki passed away unexpectedly, April 18th 2012. He was 21 years old.
Cody's memory will live on in the hearts of his father, David (Pam) Sliwicki, Wausau; brother, Luke Sliwicki, Wausau; nephew, Carter; maternal grandparents, Harold (Joyce) Steinagel, Wausau; paternal grandmother, Carol Sliwicki, Wausau; five uncles, Tim and Rick Sliwicki, Fred (Marilyn) Steinagel, Keith (Pam) Steinagel, and Mike (Joan) Steinagel; aunt, Charlotte (Joe) Windorski; numerous cousins; and many friends.
Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clarence Sliwicki.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 21st, at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Family will receive guests beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at Helke's. Burial will follow in Restlawn Cemetery, near the Garden of Eternal Rest, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25th.
