Theodore Frick

Theodore George Frick, 100, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Harmony Terrace under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Ted was born June 26, 1913 in the Town of Bern to the late Carl and Hermina (Schueneman) Frick. He is a graduate of Athens high school. Ted married Grace Baudhuin on April 20, 1937 in Green Bay and the couple was blessed with a daughter, Jeanette. Grace died on July 12, 1941. Love found Ted once more when he married Viola Nehring on June 1, 1944 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Ted and Viola happily welcomed two more children into their family; Alan and Lori. Viola died March 28, 2013. Throughout his life, he worked hard to provide for his family, as a machinist for various machine shops in the area until retiring from Wausau Insurance as a security guard in 1978.

Ted was a good and caring husband, father and grandfather, whose zest for life and laughter will be truly missed. His sense of adventure led him on numerous trips to Colorado, a drive around the Great Lakes, and the Ozarks. Ted's love of practical jokes and hearty laughter always instilled a sense of fun at home. He was a very open minded man, teaching his family from a young age to think for themselves, be respectful of others, and above all else to seek God's guidance. Ted's free time often found him engaging in his hobbies: fishing, hunting, woodworking and gunsmithing.

Ted is survived by his loving children, Jeanette Frick and Alan (Suzanne) Frick both of Jasper, TX and Lori (John) Gray of Baileys Harbor, WI; 6 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; special friends, Eunice and Elgart Baumann, and Ted and Lorraine Telekson; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Henry, Anne, Rheinhold, Cora and Olga.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Revered Gary Schultz will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
