Sylvia Aird

Sylvia Aird, 68, of Wausau passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at Wausau Manor. She was born March 20, 1945 in Wauwatosa to the late Russell and June (Smith) Edismoe. On September 24, 1983, she married Vernon Aird in Wausau. Before retiring, Sylvia worked in juvenile probation at the Marathon County Juvenile Probation Shelter Home. After retiring, Sylvia and Vern enjoyed living several years in Pheonix, Az before returning back to Wausau. Some of her past times included flower and vegetable gardening, visiting the casinos, traveling and playing cards, especially UNO.
Survivors include her husband, Vern of Wausau, one son, Darryl Rapolz of Wausau, one daughter, Diana Rapolz of Wausau, two step children, Todd Aird of Wausau, Charlene (Ron) Tim of California, four step grandchildren, and her brother, Keith (Bonnie) Skattebo of Marshfield and family.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
