Mary Knapp

Mary Knapp, 77, of the town of Rib Mountain passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Aspirus Hospice House.
She was born May 5, 1937 in Wausau to the late Leonard and Ethel (Schmitz) Resch. Mary was a member of the first graduating class of Newman High School in 1955. On April 30, 1960, she married Wayne Knapp at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wausau. She was looking forward to their fifty five year wedding anniversary. For over 30 years, Mary was employed at Wausau Insurance retiring in 1994. Whether it was gardening, baking, fishing with the kids "Up North", shopping with her sisters or simply watching and feeding the birds, Mary always kept busy. She loved taking care of her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her most special family moments happened while making her favorite holiday, Christmas, something to remember.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne of Rib Mountain, her daughter, Beth (Bruce) Seefeldt of Germantown, three sons, Brian (Diane) of Eau Claire, Craig (Deidre) of Green Bay, Chris (Amy) of Waukesha, ten grandchildren, Erin, Renee, Michelle, Matthew, Drew, Mitchell, Dalton, Carter, Cole, and Caden, four sisters, Sally (John) Olbrantz, Patsy Resch, Joan (Henry) Froelich, Sandra (James) Roll, one brother, Leonard Resch Jr., and aunt, Irene Schmitz, all of Wausau.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1104 S. 9th Ave. Father Tom Huff will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
