Marvin Ruechel

July 9, 1928 — July 28, 2010

Marvin F. Ruechel was born July 9, 1928 in the Town of Maine to the late Edward and Anna (Thyes) Ruechel. He was united in marriage to Marion Huehnerfuss on July 23, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Marvin worked for Wausau Papers for 36 years as a millwright and volunteered with the Rib Mountain Fire Department for 32 years serving as an EMT and captain. Marvin participated in the very first EMT class in the state of Wisconsin. This was the pilot to start the EMT program in Wisconsin - Marvin's EMT number was 35. At home, Marvin’s drive to work hard saw him often tinkering with small engines and automotive repair for himself and his neighbors. In his free time, Marvin enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and working in his garden. Marvin Ruechel, 82, Wausau, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
