Leroy was born
December 27, 1936
in
Wausau
to the late Thomas and Marjorie (Hlava) Norton. He married Linda Harris on
May 19, 1956
. Leroy served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Merrill V.F.W. Post #1638. He worked for Wausau Paper for 38 years before retiring. Leroy was an avid hunter. He loved to woodwork and spend time with his kids, grandkids and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Linda of Wausau, 7 children; Hans (

) Lugstein of Gmunden,
Austria
, Brenda (Jeff) Weisenberger of Brokaw, Jeff (Darla Collins) Norton of Wausau, Peggy (Rueben) Schaper of Wausau, Anita (Josh Heil) Norton of Weston, Linette (Steve Raper) Norton of Rothschild and Amy (Len Danhaus) Bonagura of Fountain,
Colo.
; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Leroy was preceded in death by one grandson Johnny Norton and 2 brothers Gerald and Charles.
