Larry Johnson

February 21, 1940 — August 29, 2010

If any questions ever arose about the subject of Musky fishing, Larry Johnson would be the man to ask. Over the years, Larry put in long and enjoyable hours on the water fishing for Musky. He has many photos of some of his most memorable catches since Larry believed in ‘catch and release’. He was a member of the Headwaters Chapter Muskies, Inc as well as Bill’s Musky Club. His other interests included watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers and playing Gin Rummy and Cribbage. In his younger years, Larry was a gifted athlete, playing baseball, bowled, and played football for the Wisconsin Badgers.

He was born February 21, 1940 in Green Bay to the late Lawrence C. and Rita (VerVoren) Johnson. He was a 1958 graduate of Green Bay West High School and then attended college at the UW-Madison. Larry was regional sales manager for Pabst Brewery working there for 25 years, then 5 years at Old Style Brewery and finally for Zastrow Beer in Wausau. For the past 16 years, Larry was a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker, Wausau.

Larry passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at North Central Health Care Facility.
