Katherine Knoblock

Katherine Knoblock, 94, of Wausau passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Marywood Convalescent Center.
She was born February 17, 1917 in Mosinee to the late John and Valeria (Rice) Michalski. On July 12, 1950, Katherine married William Knoblock at Holy Name of Jesus Parish. They lived in Wausau raising their two sons, Lee and Bob and their nephew, Raymond. In Katherine's earlier years, she had worked as a seamstress at Winkelman's Department Store. Katherine was a devout member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish. She enjoyed baking, sewing, canning, flowers and gardening.
Katherine is survived by her two sons, Lee (Barbara) Schalow of Addison, IL, Robert (Verna) Schalow of Wausau, 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, a brother, Charles Michalski of Schofield, 3 sisters, Irene Volhard of Whitewater, Alice Sulzer of Wausau, Valeria (Ed) Schumacher of Wausau and nephew, Raymond (Loretta) Knoblock of Merrill. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, sister, Mary Griener and brother, Leo Michalski.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Wausau. Father David Rybicki will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
