Joyce Jakubowski

Joyce Jakubowski, 89, of Wausau passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Benedictine Manor, Wausau.
She was born July 9, 1925 in Marathon to the late Fred and Emily (Notschke) Eggebrecht. On August 24, 1946, Joyce married John Jakubowski at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. They raised five children at their home on North 8th Ave. with Joyce working at Manson Insurance until retirement. In their younger years, they danced to Polkas every chance they could and in their later years never missed listening to Polka music every Sunday. Joyce and John bowled on several leagues even winning one year at the Senior Olympics. They loved their cottage on Bass Lake in Harrison Hills always keeping busy fishing or taking rides on their pontoon boat. She was devoted to her family and will be remembered for her home made Christmas tree skirts, wreaths, lap blankets and quilts
Survivors include her children, Judith (Dave) Rheinschmidt of Wausau, Daniel (Ruth) Jakubowski of Weston, Anne Ohrmundt of Wausau, Cynthia Hoenisch of Eau Claire, Jon (Renee) Jakubowski of Chippewa Falls, eight grandchildren, Wendy (Joel) Ohrmundt, Aron (Rohann Million) Cherek, Andrew (Robin) Hoenisch, Ryan Jakubowski, Heather (Mike) Gallenberg, Beth (Morten) Pedersen, Brec (Rachel) Ohrmundt, Adam Jakubowski and seven great grandchildren, Sydney, Jack, Calvin, Elise, Miles, Ray and Aiden. Joyce was further preceded in death by her husband, John on March 19, 2012, her brother, Donald Eggebrecht and her sister, Lorna Goetsch.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 600 Stevens Dr., Wausau. Reverend Joel Danner will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. You may sign our family guest book at Helke.com.
