Joseph J Field, 87, of Wausau, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Rennes Health & Rehab Center. "Joe" was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 24, 1925 to John A Field, Sr. and Mary E Field.
He is survived by daughters Patricia VanCleve of Rothschild, Barbara Field of Weston, son Richard of Manheim, PA., brothers John, Jr. of Austin, TX, Larry and Frank of PA and Vincent of New Jersey, sisters, Claire Garneau of Westland, MI and Anne Stapleton of Somers Point, New Jersey and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, brothers Eugene and Gerald Field and sister Elizabeth LeVasseur.
When a young man, he performed in several plays produced by the "Gilbert and Sullivan Players" in Philadelphia. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church where he sang in the choir for many years.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1104 S. 9th Ave. Father David Rybicki will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
