Jim Detert

James Detert, 62, of Wausau passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Service at Opportunity Home, Wausau.
Jim was born December 17, 1948 in Wausau to Betty (Weinberger) Detert of Wausau and the late Leonard C. Detert. In his younger years, Jim worked at Northern Valley Work Shop and had run in our local Special Olympics. He loved spending time with his family and showed them how to appreciate the simple things in life. He enjoyed bicycling, fishing, watching the Brewers and Packers and listening to music, especially Gospel.
Survivors include his mother, Betty of Wausau, two sisters, Hedy (Boyce) Archie of Eagle River, Wendy (Ben) Misikin of Green Bay and many other relatives and friends.
Jim was further preceded in death by his brother, Leonard G. Detert.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2011 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Pastor Gary Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.
