Hilda Volkman

Hilda Volkman, 97, of Wausau, died Friday October 23, 2009 at North Central Health Care.


Hilda was born December 9, 1911 in the town of Texas to the late Gustave and Martha (Kraemer) Raduechel. She married Albert Volkman on July 5, 1930 in Wausau. Albert preceded her in death in 1939. Hilda had worked in the laundry at St. Mary’s Hospital in Wausau. Hilda was a life time member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, she was a quilter and volunteer at church. She loved to walk for miles and loved her grandkids.


Survivors include one daughter Marjorie (Roger) Zweck of Lac du Flambeau, one son Jack Volkman of Wausau, two grandsons Brad ( Kimberly) Zweck and Craig ( Kelly) Zweck both of Wausau, 5 great grandchildren; Angela, Aaron, Abigail, Dustin and Ryan and two great great grandsons; Gabriel and Andrew.


Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday October 26, 2009 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend Gary Froseth will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
