Gertrude Rasmussen, 97, of Wausau, died Sunday March 2, 2008 at Wausau Manor.
Gertrude was born November 10, 1910 in Wausau, to the late Otto and Frieda (Gottschalk) Rasmussen. She worked as a book keeper for her brother Robert in Sylmar, Calif., at Rasmussen?s Department Store for 35 years before retiring. Gertrude enjoyed crafts, needlework, bingo, traveling and reading.
Survivors include one sister Lois (Harold) Knapp of Wausau, two brothers Floyd Rasmussen of Leona and Robert Rasmussen of Palm Springs, Calif., nieces and nephews.
Gertrude was preceded in death by three sisters Lillian Priebe, Helen Mitchell, and Berniece Trantow and one brother William Rasmussen.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday March 6, 2008 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Officiating will be the Reverend Dan Czech. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Wausau Manor for the loving care they gave to Gertrude.
