Gerhardt Benz

Gerhardt Benjamin Benz, 94, of Aniwa died Friday, May 27, 2011 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born January 19, 1917 to the late Charles and Louise (Natzke) Benz in Gillett, Wi. On December 7, 1940, he married Agnes Patzer in Gillett. They were married for 60 years before her passing.
Gerhardt was a dairy farmer. He loved to hunt coon, fox and trout fish.
He is survived by his son, Melvin (Laura) Benz of Wausau, three grandchildren, Tammy (David) Landwehr of Edgar and their children, Melani and Jazmin, Timothy (Cathy) Benz of Wausau and their children, Carter, Tejana and Tony, Terry (Tracy) Benz of Wausau and their children, Keagen and Paxton. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Loretta, Linda, and Delores and four brothers, August, William, Walter and Everett.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Easton. Rev. Timothy Coppersmith will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his seven great grandchildren, Melani, Jazmin, Carter, Tejana, Tony, Keagen and Paxton.
