Obit for Esther Caroline Bliese
Esther Caroline Bliese, 97, of Wausau, went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday March 2, 2008 at Cedar Ridge of Rothschild, under Ministry Hospice care.
Esther was born at home on December 7, 1910 to the late Carl and Katie (Marquardt) Hapke. She married Ewald Bliese on February 16, 1931 in Wausau. Ewald preceded her in death on February 25, 1974. Esther enjoyed her family and friends and spent many hours in volunteer work.
Survivors include two daughters; Lois Gehrke and Ann Jaecks both of Wausau, one son John (Kay) Bliese of West Bend, 10 grandchildren Mark (Shelly) Gehrke of Wausau, Cheryl (John) Braun of Marshfield, Julie (Mark) Carlson of Appleton, Lori (Dwight) Helke of Wausau, Debra Black of Wausau, Glen (Laural) Jaecks of Clintonville, Bonnie (David) Sutton of Clintonville, Timothy (Diane) Bliese of Gurnee, Ill., Sarah (Don) Beecken of Mayville, and Mischel (John) Marshall of Grayslake, Ill. 24 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and one sister-in-law Till Hapke.
Esther was preceded in death by 3 sisters Marie Strehlow, Kate Dalbec, Paula Baker, and 2 brothers Carl and John Hapke.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday March 7, 2008 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, on 5th and Washington. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be Friday from noon until the time of services at the church.
The family would like to thank the staffs at Cedar Ridge 1, Ministry Hospice and the Helke Funeral Home for their excellent care.
