Elvera Hahn

Elvera Della Klinger was born on May 26, 1919 in the Town of Maine to the late Otto and Selma Klinger. She graduated from Wausau Senior High 1936. After graduating from high school, Elvera worked as a bookkeeper for Wausau Dry Cleaners. On September 23, 1943, Elvera was united in marriage to Clarence Hahn in Syracuse, NY, one day prior to Clarence being shipped out to England during WWII. Upon his return the couple moved into their first and only home in Wausau. Elvera and Clarence celebrated forty-five loving years together prior to his passing in 1989.
First and foremost, family was most important to Elvera. Elvera was a very kind, gentle, patient, fun-loving spirit. She loved to spend time with all of her family, taking pictures, celebrating holidays, meals and visiting family. Elvera enjoyed traveling with Clarence and her son, Peter, visiting Texas, Florida, and Niagara Falls. She was a naturally talented musician and she shared her love of music with family.
Elvera's faith was very important to her. She was a loyal member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church and a member of the Dorcas Circle. Elvera was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by beloved husband, Clarence; and her sister and brother-in-law, Verna and Paul Preisig.
Elvera is survived by three sons, David (Jan) Hahn of South Milwaukee, James (Sue) Hahn of Antigo, and Peter Hahn and special friend, Marlay Kolz of Wausau; and daughter, Carol (Joel) Kohlmeyer of Rice Lake. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Elisa (Heath) Boe, Melanie (Dave) Olsen, Chad (Aly) Kohlmeyer, Carley (Tim) Schnacky, Jeremy Kohlmeyer, Sarah (Jim) Olafson, Erin Hahn and Cory Hahn; four great-grandchildren, Elijah and Ethan Boe, Emma Schnacky, and Holden Kohlmeyer; and many other loving cousins and friends.
Pastor Kenneth Schaub will be officiating. Burial will follow the luncheon in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen Lutheran Church Bell Choir.
