Elger (Edel) Cohodas, 87, of Wausau, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born to Hyman and Libby Cohodas on May 13, 1924. Elger was a World War II veteran in the Third Armored Division and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. The Cohodas Brothers Produce Company was the family business started by Elger's father and four brothers. He worked many years for the company in Chicago and Wisconsin.
Elger is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Barton, Jeffrey, Michael, and Rodney; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and "Double Trouble Poodles," Spencer and Cooper.
Burial and graveside service will take place in Hebrew Cemetery, Marinette, Wisconsin.
