Eleanor Litzer

Eleanor Litzer, 89, of Wausau, died Monday November 23, 2009 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center.





Eleanor was born February 17, 1920 in the town of Hamburg to the late William and Pauline (Burchardt) Schoenherr. She graduated from Wausau High School in 1939. Eleanor married Leslie Litzer on February 6, 1943 in Ft. Custer, Mich. Eleanor was an administrative secretary for Horace Mann and John Muir schools and later worked as an executive secretary for Wausau Homes. Eleanor was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau, and a member of the Welfare Workers. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, flower gardening, word search puzzles, bingo and spending time with her family.





Eleanor will be sadly missed by her husband of 66 years, Leslie, one daughter Ann (Dan) Mansk of Wausau, Two sons; Richard Litzer of Choctaw, Okla., and Eugene Litzer of Wausau, and three grandchildren; Becky Poalinelli of Denton, Tx., Sarah (Noah) Sickler of Eland, Wi., and Jack Mansk of St. Paul, Minn.





Eleanor was preceded in death by her 15 siblings and one daughter-in- law Nancy Litzer.





Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday November 27, 2009 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau, on Stewart Ave. Officiating will be the Reverend Gary Schultz. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. You may sign our family guest book at Helke.com.





In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
